Vegaphone #9 "Artist". Circa 1924 - 1928. The second highest grade made. A favorite with pre-war Jazz players.

Description: Top grade maple throughout. Tubaphone tonering, 28 piece flange, piecrust resonator, ebony fingerboard, with highly ornate engraved mother of pearl inlays. The peg head is profusely inlaid and the back of the peg head inlaid with the Vega star. Hand carved heel and a mother of pearl inlaid cap. Original engraved Oettinger tailpiece. Included is an original hard shell case.
Condition: "Condition is excellent except for the following use wear: Nickel plating worn on arm rest, wear and scratches to finish on back of resonator and some finish wear to back of neck, frets worn from use. Great sound." (Appraisal on-hand)
